I struggled with trying to get the lava to look realistic, i found the tools quite hard to use so instead i tried to find a way around it by manipulating the brightness and contrast, once i got the hang of it i made my own.

For my monster I wanted him to be tanky as any lava monster should be, I drew out a simple sketch then found images online and stuck them together, I am happy with the shape and build of my monsters however there is not much room for a lot of detail. 

Once i had the main build of the monster I moved onto adding the lava affects, i tried to get it to look as much like lava as i could by using different brushes and changing opacity changes.

I then added some outlines as well of changing the contrast a little. I am happy with the final outcome however it does look messy, it does need a good clean up.
